After their victory over Carnmore in Athenry today Pearses qualified for the Last 16 of the Galway SHC. The draw was made directly after the Mullagh v Clarinbridge game, which took place after the Pearses v Carnmore game. Pearses have been drawn in Group A (like last year), with County Champions Gort, Tommy Larkins and last years Intermediate Champions, Moycullen. The first Group game will take place either next weekend (19th-20th), or the following weekend (26th-27th), against County Champions Gort.
The Group stages draw was as follows:Group A – Gort, Pearses, Moycullen, Tommy Larkins.Group B – Craughwell, Kinvara, Portumna or Ardrahan, Castlegar.Group C – Beagh, Mullagh, Sarsfields, Turloughmore.Group D – Athenry, St Thomas’, Loughrea, Tynagh/Abbey-Duniry.
