Pearses have got off to a winning start at Féile 2011 defeating visitors Eoghan Ruadh (Tyrone) in Ballymacward on a scoreline of 2-6 to 2-3. Eoghan Ruadh led at half time on a scoreline of 1-3 to 0-2. However, in spite of the conditions, the home side stormed back into the game in the second half. Both goals came from Keith Connell, who finished the game with 2-2. Brian Sweeney was also impressive, finishing with 0-4. The team has two more games tomorrow at 11am and 12.15pm. The top team in Group A qualifies for the Semi-Final. In the other Round 1 game in Pearses’ group Abbeyknockmoy crushed Ballina 7-10 to 0-0.
