Kiltormer 7-9 Pearses 3-14: Our U16 hurlers finished their season against Kiltormer yesterday evening, when they exited the Shield at the Semi-Final stage. Pearses were on top for most of the first half, andamp;Oacute;isin Flannery (1-1), Ronan O’Neill and Daniel Masterson (0-3) to the fore. However, Kiltormer struck for two goals in the final minutes, to leave the score: Pearses 1-8 Kiltormer 2-3 at the break. Kiltormer nicked another goal on the restart to take the lead. Despite Pearses’ best efforts a physically stronger Kiltormer had bagged another 3-3 by the three quarter mark, 1-11 to 5-6. Pearses fought back, with Ronan O’Neill, now at midfield, scoring two goals to cut the gap to one. However another Kiltormer scoring bust, outscoring Pearses by 2-3 to 0-3 in the final minutes and settled the result.
