Well done to the boys of Ballymacward National School. They won the Rionn F (9-a-side) Cumann na mBunscoil Football final on Wednesday, in Loughgeorge. They defeated Claran (Headford) on a scoreline of 3-9 to 2-7. Team captain Ronan Flannery received the cup from County Board Chairman and a Vice-President of the club, Noel Treacy. The panel was as follows: Denis Ward, Dean Reilly, Tomandamp;aacute;s Carr, Oisin Flannery, Stephen Doran, Geordan Kenny, Jack Barrett, Brendan Roche, Darragh McCabe, Kieran Carr, Eoghan McCabe, Ronan Flannery, Darragh Healy, Eoin Lally, Cian Murphy, James Mitchell. There was further success yesterday evening for the lads as they qualified for the 11-a-side Hurling Final to be played next Wednesday (details to follow).
