Junior B Qtr-Final

Pearses 4-16 Mountbellew-Moylough 0-13: Our Junior B hurlers are through to the Championship Semi-Finals after a convincing win over Mountbellew-Moylough yesterday in Ahascragh. Pearses led from start to finish in this game and three first half goals were blows that Mountbellew-Moylough never recovered from.
Pearses had hit four points in the first ten minutes, before Mountbellew-Moylough opened their account. Mountbellew-Moylough also guilty of four wides in this spell. Cian Lawless netted the first Pearses goal on the 12th minute to stretch the lead. By the 20 minute mark it was 1-6 to 0-2. A burst upfield by Brendan Egan before hitting a long range point on the run was a highlight. Mountbellew-Moylough then hit a purple patch scoring four points in-a-row, to make it a three point game. However that comeback was halted by two Pearses goals in three minutes, Lawless again and Robbie Donnellan poaching another, 3-7 to 0-7 at half-time.
In the first ten minutes of the second half Mountbellew-Moylough outscored Pearses by 0-5 to 0-4. The pick of the nine was a first time pull from Robbie Donnellan, flying over from 45 yards. Noel McDonagh, son of a former Pearses stalwart, accurate from frees for the men in black and amber. There was a nine minute scoreless spell for both teams before a point apiece, 3-11 to 0-13. In the final ten minutes Pearses hit 1-4 without reply, Aidan Kilkenny with the Pearses goal.
Pearses now advance to play Killimordaly in the Semi-Finals, while Castlegar take on Kinvara in the other side of the draw.
