Galway Debut for Ward

Emmet Ward made his competitive debut today for Galway seniors, against Carlow in the Walsh Cup Quarter-Final. He started at No. 10 and had a point on the board before making way for Damien Hayes, with Galway well in control. Fearghal Flannery also played, in goals. Galway now advance to the play the winners of the Dublin v UCD game in the Semi-Final.
A selection of the club’s senior and junior players travelled to Dungannon, Co Tyrone on Friday evening, paying a return visit to the Eoghan Ruadh club, who we of course hosted during the 2011 Fandamp;eacute;ile na nGael. The lads received a great reception from the hosts, playing a challenge game against the Eoghan Ruadh seniors on Saturday. A great weekend was had by all.
Well done to former club player Tommy Lally, who was part of the St Gabriel’s (London) setup that defeated Galway Champions Killimordaly today in Birr, in the All-Ireland Intermediate Club Semi-Final. They now advance to take on Clara (Kilkenny) in the final.
