Frank O’Dowd, RIP

All at Padraig Pearses GAA Club are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of club stalwart, Frank O’Dowd, Castleblakeney. We offer our deepest condolences to his wife Phil, daughter Áine, foster daughter Anne, his grandchildren Lindsay and Kealan and his great grandchildren Zoey and Archie.

He was a long-time member of our club since is it’s inception in 1966. Frank has been one of our most loyal and dedicated supporters, rarely missing any games. Frank was especially proud to see his grandson Kealan lining out in the black and white of Pearses. The land our club sits on was originally O’Dowd farmland. As we build our club for the future we should always appreciate the continuous support the O’Dowd family have shown to Padraig Pearses GAA Club over the years.

We will miss seeing Frank’s smiling face while supporting Pearses at our games whether it be from his chair in the stand at Páirc na Gael, Ballymacward or our championship games across the county. Frank was also as regular at Galway matches up and down the country, donned in his maroon and white.

Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
