Pearses have drawn Carnmore in Round 2 of the SHC. The game will take place on the weekend of the 12th/13th of May. With some shock results in Round 1 of the Championship, other teams in the bowl for the draw included former All-Ireland Champions Portumna and Clarinbridge as well as other big hitters Mullagh and St. Thomas’. Carnmore were the surprise packets of last year’s Championship, reaching the Quarter-Finals before going out to Craughwell, having been tipped for relegation at the outset of the Championship. It should be an interesting clash, as both teams will fancy their chances. The prize for the winner is a place in the final 16 of the SHC, the losers enter the 5 team relegation group.
