Our U14s completed a unique double last week. First they defeated Michael Cusacks (3-12 to 0-7) in their Hurling Championship Final, played Tuesday at Duggan Park, Ballinasloe. On Friday evening most of the same group had a resounding (5-4 to 0-2) win over Kilconly in the U14 Football League Final played in Corofin. They have now collected three county titles in 2015 and will travel to the All-Ireland Hurling Féile in Loughgiel Shamrocks (Antrim) on the weekend of 19th to 21st June. A church gate collection will be held at Ballymacward and Gurteen masses this coming weekend to fundraise for their trip, please support!
The U10 hurlers maintained the winning trend last week when they qualified for the East Galway League Final, defeating Ahascragh-Fohenagh by one point. Fixture to be confirmed for the Final.
Our Junior Bs overcame Kilconieron (0-22 to 1-13) in Round 2 of the Championship, played last week in Kilconieron. This was their second win from two games. Next up is Kinvara, who Pearses lost out to (after a replay) in last year’s Semi-Final. That game will be played this Saturday (13th) at 5pm in Carnmore. The Junior C hurlers were in action in Championship Round 2 against Athenry in Carnaun earlier this evening. In a competitive game they lost out 2-8 to 0-9.
