A Good Start

It has been a good start to the year for the club, with the Seniors finishing on level terms with Craughwell andamp;ndash; Pearses 0-13 Craughwell 1-10 andamp;ndash; in the opening round of the League last Sunday, making amends for the same fixture last year. Also last Sunday Thomas Broderick was corner-back on the Galway Senior Vocational School team that defeated Kilkenny in the All-Ireland Vocational Schools Final in Thomastown. Jimmy Gelston was to the fore on the GMIT team that defeated St. Pats, Drumcondra to win the Kehoe Cup Final, also last Sunday afternoon, scoring 1-10. Well done to both Jimmy and Thomas. The good start continued earlier this afternoon, when the Club’s U21s defeated old rivals Meelick-Eyrecourt in the first round of the U21B Championship. They now proceed to meet either Ahascragh-Fohenagh or Michael Cusack’s (Beagh-Kilbeacanty) in the next round. Hopefully the good results will continue.
