We, at Pádraig Pearses GAA Club are delighted to announce the success of our recent Sports Capital Application where we have received €69,759 towards Phases 2 and 3 of our Club Development Plan. This development will take place in 2020. A special word of thanks to our local County Councillor Timmy Broderick, Denis Naughten TD and Minister Sean Canney TD for their representations on behalf of our club in relation to our Sports Capital Grant Application.
The Sports Capital announcement today was preceded yesterday evening with an award of a €10,000 Connaught Council Grant towards the Phases 1 club development that took place at Ballymacward pitch in 2019. It has been overall a very successful 13 months for the club with Leader, Sports Capital Funding and Connacht Council grant awards. Thank you to Frank Keane and GRD for assisting with our LEADER application towards Phase 1 and thanks to County Development Officer Tommy Kelly and Galway County Board for their support in our Connacht Council Application.
On a club level, thank you to our Club Development Sub-Committee of Chairperson Adrian Queeney, Secretary Dorothy Scarry, Treasurer Shane Ruane, Development Officer Maeve Parker, Assistant Chairperson Niall Barrett, Martin Barry, James Clancy and Noel Treacy for their work over the past 2 years to get this across the line. In addition, thank you to our Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer and Development Officer for the time and dedication given towards the completion of all three very detailed grant application forms.
Finally, thank you to our Pádraig Pearses GAA family and the wider Ballymacward and Gurteen communities who recently participated in, organised and supported our Strictly Dancing Fundraiser last weekend. These funds raised are also going towards Phases 2-3 of our Club Development. Ní neart go cur le chéile.
