The Club’s Junior ‘B’ hurlers had a first outing in the Championship when they defeated Killimor (2-20 to 1-6) in Carnaun (Athenry). Leo Morrissey and Finbarr Healy the goalscorers. Next up is Kilconieron this Saturday (23rd) at 7pm in Killimordaly. Championship starts for the Junior ‘C’ hurlers this Friday (22nd May) v Tynagh-Abbey-Duniry at 7.30pm in Ballymacward.
There were wins on the double for the Club’s U14s last weekend. In football they defeated Kilconly to maintain a winning record and stay top of the League. They also remain unbeaten and top of the Hurling Championship group following a win over Killimor. The U12 hurlers also got their season under way when they defeated Sylane at home.
No winner in May 18th Club Lotto draw. Numbers were 7, 12, 25, 27. Jackpot €4,800 next week in Egan’s, Ballymacward. The U14 panel are currently selling lines (€5 per line) to fundraise for their trip to the All-Ireland Hurling Féile in Loughgiel Shamrocks (Antrim) on the weekend of 19th to 21st June.
