Each year the sports writers of Connacht join up to announce monthly and overall awards for the sports stars of the province and the 2012 awards were presented at a gala ceremony in the Travellers Friend Hotel, Castlebar recently. Cyril Donnellan won the award for July (for his brilliant display in the Leinster Final) an in Camogie Niamh Kilkenny of Pearses Camogie Club was named as Senior Camogie Player of the Year.andamp;nbsp;
Galway’s Iarla Tannian won the September award and John Joe Holleran, former Chairman Galway Football Board took the December award. Moycullen Handballer Martin Mulkerrins who took the overall Connacht GAA Writers Personality of the Year. Mullagh took the Galway and Connacht GAA Club Grounds of the Year.
